Course description:

  • This course provides you with the resources and practical skills to identify and proactively intervene to support patrons that might be experiencing gambling harm.The NSW government has mandated this training for Responsible Gambling Officers (RGO) and other senior roles within hotels and clubs that operate gaming machines. Completion of the Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) course is a prerequisite to enrolment in the Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling (ARCG) course.This reflects
    • the increased risk of gambling harm that gaming machines represent and
    • supports a culture of proactive harm minimisation in venues.

Course outcome:

  • You’ll get a completion certificate
  • Your digital competency card will be updated: If you hold a digital competency card, the ARCG endorsement will be automatically added to your digital card free of cost.
  • Visit Service NSW to learn more about the NSW Digital Competency card.
  • You can request to update your physical competency card: To add the ARCG endorsement to your physical competency card, visit the competency card self-service portal to manage your competency card online.

Unit of competency:

Successful participants will receive a National Statement of Attainment in Advanced RCG.

Entry requirements:

Must have completed the RCG training.

Course content:

  • Gambling legislation in NSW.
  • Provide responsible gambling services guidelines.
  • Your responsibility to prevent addiction in gamblers.

Assessment requirements:

  • To pass Catch Training’s RCG course participants will need to successfully complete a written assessment.
  • No pre-course revision is required as your Catch Trainer will teach you everything you need to know on the day.

What to bring:

  • You must bring one form of photo identification. Ideally an Australian driver’s licence or your passport.
  • A black or blue pen.
  • Please arrive 15-minutes before the scheduled start time so that your Catch Trainer can check your ID and sign you in.
