The dangers of online RSA training

Responsible Service of Alcohol is an important topic.  There are few other formal forums that introduce teenagers to the dangers of drinking and what the repercussions of alcohol abuse can be. While this course is aimed at those seeking to serve in licenced venues, it’s a great course for any teenager to complete as it covers important issues such as: the effect of alcohol on the human body, how much alcohol is in different types of drinks. intoxication, harm minimisation strategies and underage drinking.

While online courses may appeal to some students looking to quickly get their RSA photocard and start work; we are seeing more and more that students attempting this training online are confused and not being offered support to better understand the content at hand.  To get around this problem, they are often getting others to complete the training on their behalf, or they copy and paste generic answers with no understanding, or they end up not completing the training because they get stuck with the content, or with the process.

Face to face RSA training is a six-hour class. It is delivered by a trainer who is an industry expert who has managed a licenced venue for a minimum of three years.  These trainers have real hands on experience to pass on to their students. The trainer interacts with every student to ensure they understand the content and successfully pass the course on their own merits. Group discussions are encouraged and are an enjoyable aspect of face-to-face training and can help students better understand the topic at hand.

At Catch Training we offer a 24 hours certificate. This means within 24 hours of passing your face-to-face RSA course with us you can be out in the workplace, serving in a licenced venue.  Meanwhile the online students are stuck at home wondering how they can upload a video of themselves ‘refusing service of alcohol’ for their online assessment.

Face to face training delivers better quality training in this important topic. It also allows students to complete their training efficiently and get into the workplace quicker.
