How to Make Virgin Margaritas

As the weather gets warmer people inevitably are looking for something to keep them cool and one of the best things to have while you are lounging by the pool is a cocktail. However if you are driving, responsible for looking after the kids or simply fancy something without booze in it then it is worth knowing how to make non-alcoholic cocktails. The good news is that they taste just as good!

The recipe for Virgin Margaritas can vary (and indeed once you’ve done this a couple of times you’ll probably want to put your twist on it). However the basic ingredients you need are some lime cordial, a glass of orange juice, two tablespoons of salt, a half of a lime cut into four wedges and some ice cubes.

First of all you moisten the rim with a bit of juice from the lime and then put the salt into a saucer. Turn the glasses upside down and put them into the salt, gently twisting so you coat the rim of each glass. You then put your lime cordial, orange juice and ice cubes into a blender or mixer.

The trick is to blend everything at high speed so the ice is fully crushed and the drink is properly mixed together. You then pour the drink, top the glass with lime wedges and that’s it, fresh Virgin Margaritas all round!
